The rally is organized by the Umbrella Movement, a group that plans protests around Israel, who is protesting PM Netanyahu's involvement in this year's Jewish Federation of North America GA.
The Jewish Federations of North America issued a letter Monday defending their choice of speakers at the Israel at 75 General Assembly, despite ongoing turmoil in the Jewish state.

“We urged all the leaders we spoke with to work with President Herzog to negotiate a solution that could have broad support across Israeli society,” they said
They wrote in an open letter urging that "a 61-seat Knesset majority should not be allowed to override Supreme Court decisions."
They also advocated the committees to fund programs that would fight antisemitism and hate crimes, care for Holocaust survivors and other vulnerable populations.
