The new sanctions and other measures will "continue a steady drumbeat of pressure" to contain and degrade Iran's military capacity and effectiveness, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said.
The DOJ said it also seized more than 520,000 barrels of Iran's oil aboard the crude tanker Abyss that were covered by US sanctions.
The sanctions, announced in separate statements, represent Washington's latest efforts to punish Tehran, whose proxies in Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and Gaza have attacked US and Israeli targets.
