A shooting incident occurred outside the Israeli embassy in Stockholm, Sweden, according to local media reports on Tuesday.

All embassy staff members were safe, with no injuries reported. While authorities have refrained from providing specific details concerning the incident, many police vehicles were seen at the scene.

At least ten police cars were on the scene, with police officers blocking the area while searching for evidence. During the search, a weapon and an empty ammunition case were found.

Security at the Israeli embassy in Stockholm has been heightened several times this year following attempted attacks, including a nearby shooting and the discovery of a suspicious object.

In two cases, teenagers were arrested while in a taxi on their way to the embassy, armed with weapons. One of them was sentenced to 11 months in prison in May after being caught with a gun and wearing gloves, claiming he received instructions via chat.

 Security for Jewish interests

Stockholm police have increased security measures to improve the protection of Israeli and Jewish interests throughout Sweden since the war between Israel and Hamas began last fall. They cooperate closely with security services, other authorities, and Jewish community representatives.

Last May, shots were fired near the Israeli Embassy in Stockholm, and several people were arrested afterward. At the same time, in France, an armed man was shot dead after attempting to set fire to a synagogue in the city of Rouen. "I commend the police for their responsibility and courage," wrote Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin on X. No other injuries were reported besides the armed man, who was equipped with a knife and tried to attack police officers outside the synagogue in the early morning hours. Firefighters arrived at the scene.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry in Jerusalem updated that "an unusual incident is being investigated at the Israeli Embassy in Sweden." It emphasized that all embassy staff are safe and unharmed.
