The new installation in Berlin has been inspired by the Hostages Square in Tel Aviv, a public plaza located outside of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art that also showcases those held in Hamas captivity.
After the IDF conducted research and mapping work in recent weeks, it was determined that airstrikes destroyed tunnels used by Hamas in Operation Protective Edge.
This could be a signal of further additional movements toward attacking Hamas’s remaining battalions in Rafah or small portions of central Gaza.
The three tunnels had been discovered in either 2014 or in 2019 and had been struck in previous operations.
According to the sources, the number three in Hamas’s high command was killed in the IDF strike in Nusirat, in central Gaza, while he was hiding in one of Hamas's terror tunnels.
The discovery was part of continued operations by the 7th Armored Brigade's combat who have been operating west of Khan Yunis in the Hamad area.
The tunnel extends about four kilometers long and ends near the Erez crossing but does not cross into Israeli territory.
He then noted the immense investment Hamas has made in constructing these tunnels, which he believes may have cost the organization up to a billion dollars over fifteen years.
Military sources said that Sinwar had planned to fight from an underground fortified base called "Room 6" - a place equipped for a long stay.
In recent weeks, some reports have alleged that Yahya Sinwar had fled to Rafah or even into Egypt.
